Elegy

It is in the sting of sweat against the cut
which never heals, the way the mouth connects
to cunt while kissing, or in the taste of semen
on the tongue already slick with spit.  It is in
the fingers gripping hips, the slap of flesh

before it fails against the onslaught of worms.
Let my breasts become your bread.  When -I
overflow, drink from me as your cup.
Let me know the beat of your heart in my mouth
before the green beetles have their way.

The Golden Mean, the Rule of Three,
a Fibonacci Sequence of events
led your mouth to mine where slide ruled.
And when Binet's recurrence occurred,
I held you tight against me when you gasped
my name as prayer sliding from your tongue.
I lost my faith in numbers then; fell from finite
into more than one and spilled inside you.

I will feign shock and surprise
when I discover you
and use you anyway.

sentimentality mixed
