Does age matter when it comes to sex?  I'm not sure. Yeah, my body doesn't do what it used to.  I've got lousy knees and I'm not as flexible or energetic as I used to be, but really I know it's not my age that's affecting my sexual activities so much as the stage of life I'm at - stay at home mom with two kids.  That definitely changes a gal's love life.

The short answer is that it's gotten better. Many years ago, an older person warned us that if we wanted to keep our marriage alive, we had to work at it, and always make it top priority. We took that advice seriously. It doesn't hurt that the Warrior Queen is a creative and imaginative lover, who initiates things at least as often as I do, and has very definite ideas of what she wants from sex. She tends to be the dominant one, and sex for both of us translates into making sure that her pleasure is maximized. Not surprisingly, this tends to keep me pretty satisfied, too.

We must be doing something right, since it's 43+ years for us (plus a couple of years before marriage), and the mere sight of her still gets me all hot and bothered. The main differences between now and then:

We're down to once a week, sometimes twice, but the quality of each encounter is much higher - more concentration on oral sex, especially for her; more little casual gestures of affection, touching, stroking, etc.

I think it's most natural for sex to get better as one ages.  If it doesn't improve in quality, it may be because of a decline in quantity, after all, practice makes perfect.  Although, less quantity should bring a richer quality to any experience on the basis of appreciation, care and consideration.

Sex has improved in quality for me in terms of better, longer orgasms and more awareness of what arouses me and gives me pleasure.  I have also enjoyed learning more about what pleases my partner(s).  I've benefited as much as my lovers from exploring and learning more about what turns him on.

As I grow older, I am also less inhibited or concerned about my body - the way it looks and feels.  I've never been a modest person, but now, at age 41, I really don't give a rat's ass what anyone else thinks about my body.  I will dress how I wish without regard to other's opinions.  I will also undress without hesitation in front of anyone (over 18, LOL) that cares to watch.  I don't have the hang ups I did in my youth about being overweight or not being perfect.

Another aspect of sex that has changed with my age is my openness to try new things.  I've never been not open to trying new things, but my boundaries have expanded over the years.  Things that seemed taboo or unappealing when I was younger have been explored and most often enjoyed.  I've engaged in sexual activities in my 30s and 40s that I never DREAMED I would dare try as a 20 something.  There are scenarios that would make me cringe and feel ashamed to even read about that now I often employ in my fantasies.   There are things that I would never actually do - and still some things that squick me beyond any arousal at all, but I've crossed many lines that I never said I would.

So, yes, sex has gotten better for me in several ways as I've gotten older.  I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of my forties and continuing to grow sexually well into my senior years.

Has sex changed for me over the years?  Well yeah, I think about it more now and do it less. Gone are the carefree days of youth and the ability to get it up and cum numerous times a night. Gone are days of being able to take the top off it and still be able to shoot a healthy load.  Gone are the dreams of youth where you thought it was all there was and an unending supply would be before you. Sigh.

As we get older our tastes change and that influences what we expect from our sex life. We are less likely to be adventurous and try something a little different because we get used to the life we have and accept the status quo. I know that this does not happen for everyone but for the majority it is so and many bemoan there fate but change is a little more difficult because we now see the repercussions of our actions and how they effect others.
